A suggested disclosure in biographical format

Green Information is not a party website; it is a nonprofit, independent, Green domain.

I hope that Green Information (GI) represents one of the first of many thousands of independent Green websites.

My definition of two common phrases:

Green Party: Well over 80 politically structured organizations worldwide, presumably founded on NONVIOLENCE - GRASSROOTS DEMOCRACY - SOCIAL JUSTICE - ECOLOGICAL WISDOM.

Green Movement: 1. Identifiable historically by rapid social changes in the 1960s by the emergence of antiwar, antinuclear, women's movements, and a vigorous environmental movement worldwide. No one group may legitimately claim to represent the "movement" as identified here because it is worldwide and exists independently of the "party." 2. Movement, as articulated by the four major Green Philosophies known as EcoFeminism, Bioregionalism, Social Ecology, and Deep Ecology.

I first bought the .com to protect it from those who would commercialize GI and related ideas, an unfortunate reality elsewhere on the Internet. I then created Green Information's first three pages because I could not find simple explanations of what the Greens think. Then I realized that the major Green philosophies were also absent from other Green websites, party sites, too.

I don't know everything about the "Greens"; I hope that you find something useful here. Aldous Huxley's "The Politics of Ecology"(1963) is special in my opinion. An older Green years ago recommended it as the inspiration for the "ecology club" at the University of California Berkley in the mid-1960s. Save it for posterity. (I found it at California State University Fullerton's graduate library, and believe that it originated in Santa Barbara, California at The Center for Democratic Studies, which no longer exists.)

My "Green" experience began officially in 1987. I've listened to Pacifica radio many thousands of hours to learn more about diversity in cultural and social economic matters. Plus, since 1987, I have written and read thousands of emails on Green politics; The Journal of Environmental Ethics influences my thinking mightily. In California, 1987, I got to run the first Green electoral campaign as a "Green" under the umbrella of the Ten Key Values -- Peace and Freedom Party (76th senate district, now defunct). Folks thought that I was saying some very different ideas! I also founded the Coyote Creek Greens in 1987 (now hibernating); I became active in the Green movement by protesting nuclear power in southern California, 1974, and demonstrating with and supporting the United Farm Workers' boycotts and other efforts. I am webmaster here.

I supported the formation of a party as a means to promote ecology and the Green Movement. I would prefer to see stronger emphasis placed on ecology and environmental issues.

I'd rather not collaborate with the Democratic party for the interest of their candidates. Doing so supports their corporate puppeteers and the race to the far-right with the Republicans.

I define fascism as "the imposition of capital."

Yes, I am a "baby boomer," a product of the industrial working-class, and raised in a Los Angeles, California suburb. I began questioning the limits to growth, pollution, and the destruction of species' habitats when I was a young boy paging through the National Geographic.

Yes, I am a Vietnam Veteran (A, 1/503 Airborne Infantry, 173rd Airborne Brigade, Separate) like so many other baby boomers.

Yes, I am married and for 33 years to the same woman and child-free by choice. I know about the Malthus and Godwin debate, and I understand the meaning of exponential growth in any species. I hope that you do to! (Do the math.)

I am the guilty party for the Green Glossary. I did borrow ideas, especially from Frederick Jamison for postmodernism and Heidegger's Metaphysics for technology. I have not done justice by either.

I cannot take responsibility for the content of the many links here. Flame someone else!

Green Information has received moral support from around the world, including from professors of the biological sciences. I get flames from the right and left wings of the political spectrum, and I cannot honestly say that these flamers understand the meaning and implications of Green Information's first three pages. (Note the Cartesian grid squares on page 2 representing Earth's Borg-like assimilation by scientific rationalism, every square inch from the rain-forests to human behavior patterns from birth to death -- Brave New World.)

I always consider additions, deletions, editing, and critiques. I have always offered free space and input to Green Information on many email lists as well as here .

Do not trouble me with theories of "race." I have provided numerous resources to help dispel the myth of "race."

I apologize for the length of this disclosure.
